The Culgoa River is a river in the south of the Australian state of Queensland and in the north of New South Wales . It is a headwaters of the Darling River .

At Dirranbandi in Queensland it emerges from the floodplain of the Balonne River and flows with a slight gradient to the southwest. At Brenda he crosses the border into New South Wales. To the west of Brenda are Culgoa Floodplain National Park in Queensland and Culgoa National Park in New South Wales.

East of Warraweena , the Culgoa River joins the Barwon River from the east to form the Darling River.
