The Narran River is a river in eastern Australia on the border between the states of Queensland and New South Wales .

geography

Together with the Culgoa River and the Bokhara River , the Narran River is an arm of the Balonne River  - the most easterly of the three. It flows south to the Barwon River , a headwaters of the Darling River , but does not reach it, but ends in the no-drain Narran Lake north of the Barwon River.

In March 2010, the Narran River flooded in Angledool the Angledool Lake and then ran into the Weetalabah Creek on which the Castlereagh Highway crosses. This also filled Coocoran Lake near Lightning Ridge. The same thing happened with the great flood in Queensland at the end of January / beginning of February 2011 .
