The Capricorn Coast National Park (English: Capricorn Coast National Park ) is a national park in the east of the Australian state of Queensland . It is 535 kilometers northwest of Brisbane and 5 kilometers south of Yeppoon .

The national park consists of six individual parts, four of which are open to the public. These are Double Head, Rosslyn Head, Bluff Point and Coconut Point . Some of the parts were already independent national parks from 1943 before they were combined to form the Capricorn Coast National Park in 1994.

Terrain forms

Rocky capes that formed 73–79 million years ago are the main surface form of the national park. The capes offer great views of the offshore islands (Keppel Islands) and the hinterland of the coast.

flora

In the park there is coastal heather and light forest, as well as rain forest and tussock grassland.

Driveway

From Yeppoon , the coastal road leads south past the individual parts of the park. Double Head and Rosslyn Head are closest to the city.

Facilities

Camping in the park is not permitted, as is bringing pets. There is a circular walk and a picnic area at Bluff Point .
