The Burrum Coast National Park ( English Burrum Coast National Park ) is a national park in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland . A coastal plain, relatively untouched by civilization, with coastal wetlands is protected there.
location
The reserve is 281 kilometers north of Brisbane . It begins around 15 kilometers south of Bundaberg . A little further inland are the Bingera and Cordalba National Parks .
The park, which stretches for around 30 kilometers along the coast, consists of four separate sections: Kinkuna, Woodgate, Burrum River and Buxton . The Burrum River Section is south of the mouth of the Burrum River.
flora
Mangrove forests can be found along the banks of the Burrum River , while various species of eucalyptus can be found in the areas with a thick layer of soil , including the protected Goodwood Gum ( Eucalyptus halli ). In the wetlands, the myrtle family Leptospermum laevigatum and the herb palm ( Livistona australis ) dominate. There are also many wildflowers and heather areas.
Facilities
The park is accessed by hiking trails. In rainy weather it is advisable to use four -wheel drive vehicles, otherwise normal road vehicles are sufficient.
Driveway
The national park is accessible from the Bruce Highway between Bundaberg and Maryborough on back roads. The beach towns of Burrum Heads and Woodgate Beach are surrounded by the national park.
