The Capricornia-Cays National Park (English: Capricornia-Cays National Park ) is a national park in the east of the Australian state of Queensland .
location
He is at the height of the Tropic of Capricorn (English Tropic of Capricorn ), 60-100 km northeast of Gladstone , between the Curtis Channel and the Capricorn Channel in the South Pacific .
The national parks Curtis Island and Keppel Bay Islands are in the neighborhood .
National nature
A number of coral islands and coral reefs are protected in the park , known for their beauty and biodiversity . They are part of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Site .
The main islands are Masthead Island, Erskine Island, Heron Island , North West Island, Tryon Island, Wilson Island, Wreck Island, One Tree Island, Hoskyn Islands, Lady Musgrave Island and Fairfax Islands . In addition, there are the North Reef , the Fitzroy Reef and the Llewellyn Reef .
Facilities
Camping is permitted on North West Island in the north of the archipelago and on Lady Musgrave Island in the south of the archipelago.
Driveway
The islands can only be reached by private or charter boats. The following islands are for scientific purposes only and are therefore not allowed on: Wreck Island, Hoskyn Islands and Fairfax Islands .
