The Palmerston Rocks National Park (English Palmerston Rocks National Park ) is a national park of only 9.52 hectares in Queensland , Australia .
location
The park is located in the North Queensland region and is 15 kilometers west of Innisfail . It can be reached via the Palmerston Highway ; About one kilometer after the small town of Coorumba , it runs along the road for a length of 600 meters. It is only 200 meters wide and there are no visitor facilities.
The national parks Japoon , Wooroonooran , Eubenangee Swamp , Ella Bay and Moresby Range are in the vicinity .
Flora and fauna
The small piece of tropical rainforest offers an important retreat, especially for the endangered Common Mistfrog ( Litoria rheocola ). In addition, the Tapping Green Eyed Frog ( Litoria serrata ), the Orange Bushbrown ( Mycalesis terminus ) and the Orchard Swallowtail ( Papilio aegeus ), both butterflies , are native to the park.
