The Castle Tower National Park ( English : Castle Tower National Park ) is a national park in the east of the Australian state of Queensland .
location
The park is 407 kilometers northwest of Brisbane and 30 kilometers south of Gladstone .
Terrain forms
There are several mountains in the national park, such as Mount Castle Tower , Mount Stanley and Mount Coulston . Lake Awoonga is a reservoir in the northwest .
flora
The mountainous area is covered with dry rainforest in the valleys and along the watercourses and light eucalyptus forest on the mountain ridges. Heide plants form the undergrowth, including the endemic occurring Byfield Spider-Grevillee , an endangered species, Grevillea - Art . The park is located on the southern limit of the distribution of white gum .
Access
The national park cannot be reached by vehicle and is entirely surrounded by private land. It can be hiked from the Bruce Highway or the Calliope – Monto road with the landowner's permission . It can also be reached by boat via Lake Awoonga (only with the approval of the Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB)).
Facilities
Wild camping in the park is permitted, but requires an individual permit that is subject to a fee. There are no tent sites or hiking trails.
