The Howick Group National Park (English: Howick Group National Park ) is a national park in the northeast of the Australian state of Queensland .
location
It is 1,689 kilometers northwest of Brisbane and 90 kilometers north of Cooktown . The islands are east of the Jack River and Cape Melville National Parks on the continental shelf in the Coral Sea .
A little further south are the national parks Turtle Group and Lizard Island .
Terrain forms
There are four larger islands, the main island Howick Island (Lizard Island) , as well as Berwick Island, Houghton Island and Murdoch Island . There are several smaller islands around these islands. The islands are partly rocky and overgrown with tropical rainforest .
