The Gatton National Park (English Gatton National Park ) is a 426 hectare national park in Queensland , Australia .
location
It is located in the Darling Downs region about 75 kilometers west of Brisbane and 35 kilometers east of Toowoomba . The closest town is Gatton . From here you can reach the park via Woodlands Road to the south, which you pass after about 6 kilometers. There are only forest roads in the park, there are no visitor facilities.
The national parks Lockyer , D'Aguilar and Main-Range are in the neighborhood .
Flora and fauna
The national park protects dry rainforests and open eucalyptus forests up to 200 meters high.
Over 50 different bird species are native to the park. The white-chinned honey-gourmet ( Melithreptus albogularis ), the striped panther bird ( Pardalotus striatus ), the gray- chested stubborn head ( Colluricincla harmonica ) and the red-backed easel tail ( Malurus melanocephalus ) are particularly common . In addition, live spot pythons ( Antaresia maculosa ), fire-tailed skinks ( Morethia taeniopleura ) and Small Schmalfußbeutelmäuse ( Sminthopsis murina ).
