The Broad Sound Islands National Park (English: Broad Sound Islands National Park ) is a national park in the east of the Australian state of Queensland . It is part of the Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
The park off the coast consists of 48 small islands that are very remote and difficult to reach. As a result, they are almost unaffected by the influences of civilization.
The national parks Keppel Bay Islands , Northumberland Islands and Percy Isles are in the vicinity ; on mainland West Hill and Cape Palmerston .

It is 709 km northwest of Brisbane and 137 km southeast of Mackay .

Two of the largest breeding areas for the threatened barrier reef turtle ( Natator depressus ) are located on the islands .
