The Alton National Park (English Alton National Park ) is a 558  hectare nature reserve in the Australian state of Queensland .

location

It is 370 km west of Brisbane and about 70 km southwest of St. George on the Moonie Highway . There are no tourist facilities.

history

The national park was opened on October 21, 1980.

flora

The national park has the combination of the occurrence of tree species of the families Angophora (belonging to the myrtle family) and Xanthorrhoea or grass trees, which otherwise do not occur together in the Spinifex grassland. This special plant population is to be preserved through protection in the national park.
