Guillemots (or gUiLLeMoTs ) is a British indie rock band that was formed in 2004.

history

Fyfe Dangerfield already had several years of experience in the music business when he gathered the current cast of the Guillemots in London in November 2004 . The name of the band is derived from the English name for a group of sea birds ( guillemots , common guillemot ).

In 2005, the band supported Rufus Wainwright's sold-out tour of the UK and released their first EP, I Saw Such Things in My Sleep . Two further EPs followed in July 2006, the album Through the Windowpane . Both the album and three single releases were able to place in the British charts.

Two tours as the main act took her through Great Britain in April / May and October / November 2006. The songs are often played in a different form during performances. At a festival in October 2006, the musicians were even accompanied by an orchestra for some of the songs .

In 2010 Dangerfield released a solo album.
