The Cape Hillsborough National Park ( English Cape Hillsborough National Park ) is a national park in the east of the Australian state of Queensland . It is 837 kilometers northwest of Brisbane and around 40 kilometers north-northwest of Mackay .
The park is located on a peninsula of volcanic origin, which is mainly covered with rainforest . Its highest point is 267 meters above sea level.
On National Park Day 2010 (March 28, 2010), the Queensland State Government added an additional 2.04 square kilometers to the park area, which is now just over 11 square kilometers.
The Newry Islands , Reliance Creek , Mount Ossa and Pioneer Peaks national parks are in the vicinity .
