The Austria Knochenschau was an Austrian pop-rock band with its home base in the Linz music scene in Upper Austria . The band was named after the Austria Wochenschau , which when the band was founded was the only film medium that reported regularly on Austro pop and rock.

Band history

After Hubert Grillberger returned from the Mühlviertel after an international career as a professional musician, he founded the band with Gust Maly in the late 1970s. Grillberger had been traveling mainly as a trumpeter in Germany, England and Spain, but switched to guitar and singing for his further musical career.

The Austria Knochenschau disbanded after the death of founding member Hubert Grillberger after almost forty years and several changes.

On February 13, 2009, the first anniversary of the death of Hubert Grillberger, the remaining band members Rudy Pfann, Andreas Wiesinger and Peter Mitterböck played a tribute concert in the Posthof Linz.
