action

Dieter Lindemann (whose name stands for the real Dieter Bednarz in the film) and his wife Esther have finally become parents. They are twins. But who is staying at home now? The lawyer Esther has just taken over the management of her law firm. She can't take a year off now. Instead, the permanent journalist Dieter stays at home. He is looking forward to the time-out and underestimates the task ahead. Originally he believed he could get a long sleep in the morning, have a leisurely breakfast and play with the twins in the afternoon. Instead, after a few months, he realizes how much the sleep loss is scratching his nerves. While he is comforting, changing, feeding and attending all sorts of baby classes, he envies his Esther, who does without children all day. Esther, on the other hand, watches with mixed feelings as Dieter befriends Corinna, a mother from the playground. She is jealous. When she also realizes that Dieter has started to work again on the side, the marital row is perfect.

Reviews

"Turbulent (television) comedy that exaggerates a situation that is at least familiar to parents by swapping the largely usual roles."

“Actually, director Titus Selge is considered a crime specialist [...]. Here, however, he took on the novel of the same name by Dieter Bednarz in the script adaptation by Stefan Kuhlmann [...] and staged a conventional family comedy without any major surprises, which thanks to the actors is quite charming. "

“The great achievement of comedy is that it doesn't stop at these clichés. She never asks the idle question of whether men should and can give up their children or whether women should and can give up their children. It is the simple worries and fears of parents that take center stage. Anyone who knows how much full-time childcare is isolating and putting the partnership to the test will find themselves grinning and sighing. The most beautiful scene, Dieter's interview with the Foreign Minister, shows what a world could be like in which work and children are not mutually exclusive. Relevant and entertaining television, more of it! "
