Ulrik Spies
Ulrik Spies (born December 22, 1950 in Wuppertal - Elberfeld ; † July 12, 2013 ) was a German composer , music producer and drummer .
biography
Ulrik Spies received 11 years of violin training before studying drums, percussion and piano at the Bremen Conservatory, now the Bremen University of the Arts , after graduating from high school in Oberhausen . Then he played as a drummer for various ensembles, jazz formations and rock bands. He later produced music with artists such as Wigald Boning , Lars Rudolph , Stan Red Fox and Ben Becker .
Together with the musician Jacki Engelken he played in the Ben Becker Live Band . He made his debut as a film composer in 1997 with the comedy Still Movin ' directed by Niki Stein . Since then, Engelken and Spies have composed the music for all of Stein's film productions, including, most recently, Reunion with a Stranger , Father Mother Murderer and Rommel .
He died on July 12, 2013.
