Monica Reyes

Monica Reyes Sawoff (born January 6, 1981 in Graz ) is an Austrian singer and actress.

Life

Monica Reyes was born in Graz as the daughter of an Australian and a Spanish woman and studied acting and singing at the Vienna Conservatory and the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney. As the singer of the band Sawoff Shotgun , she and her two sisters were nominated for the Amadeus Award 2009 and 2012, among others . In 2013 she presented her first solo album Schmusen and thus took first place in the FM4 charts. In 2016, Sawoff Shotgun were renamed Resisters.

As an actress, she was involved in the film The Unintentional Abduction of Ms. Elfriede Ott in 2010 , which won the Austrian Film Prize in 2011 . Since then she has been making films and series for German-speaking television. She gained stage experience at the Schauspielhaus Graz , the Volksbühne Berlin , the Volksoper Vienna and at the Wiener Festwochen .

She is married to Emanuel Heisenberg, a grandson of the physicist and Nobel Prize winner Werner Heisenberg , and lives in Berlin and Vienna.
