Adrian Zumbusch is an employee of an insurance company and suffers from phobias . He aligns his life to these phobias, to the suffering of his fellow men. He does not get in an elevator, avoids tunnels, dizzying heights and contact with strangers. His wife Sylvie can no longer live with him, but Adrian does not consent to the divorce. The only place he feels comfortable is in his psychotherapist's therapy group. This therapist also treats Katja Lorenz, working for relational unable holds and always gets the wrong man. Katja is a doctor and examines the hypochondriac Adrian, of all people. She has his blood values checked and actually announces that he is terminally ill with leukemia . He probably only had three months to live. This turns Adrian's life upside down. Suddenly his fears are gone. Katja falls in love with the terminally ill man. It seems to be the wrong one again, because what good is it for her if she loves a man who will die in three months. Nevertheless, the two spend the best weeks of their lives together - until it turns out that the results of Adrian's investigation have been reversed. It is not Adrian (Zumbusch) who has leukemia, but Andreas (Zumbach). Adrian won back his fears. Only when he met Andreas on his deathbed and the old man took away his fear of death does he hope to overcome his fears. When Andreas dies, Adrian learns from his wife that Andreas wanted Adrian to give the funeral oration. Speaking in front of 100 mourners is an insurmountable challenge for Adrian and the catastrophe seems inevitable. He used to avoid these challenges, but this time he overcomes himself and thereby also wins the future together with Katja.
