German Actor Award
The German Actor Award , also known as the German Actor Award "Chaplin Shoe" , is an award initiated by the Federal Association of Directors in 1977 for the most outstanding acting performance of the past year. The price symbol is a bronze cast of the original Chaplin shoes as a symbol for the pursuit of a difficult but successful career path.
In 1982 it was supplemented by a young talent award for actors who the directors hope will be “among the big names of tomorrow”. In 1991 the award was suspended until further notice.
