Bernadette Sonnenbichler

Bernadette Sonnenbichler (* 1982 in Munich ) is a German theater and radio play director .

Career

Sonnenbichler studied directing at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 2001–2005 . Her final production was invited to the Körber Studio Junge Regie festival in Hamburg in 2005 . During her studies she directed several radio plays for Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) and published a screenplay for The Man Without Characteristics by Robert Musil for Sonderzahl Verlag Vienna. Anna Badora brought her to the Schauspielhaus Graz as an assistant director from 2006–2008 , where several productions followed. She has been a freelance director since 2008.

As a radio play director, she regularly works for the broadcasters of BR , HR and SWR .

In 2015 and 2016, Sonnenbichler worked as a guest lecturer at the UdK Berlin .

Since the 2016/17 season she has been in-house director at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus .

Her radio plays have won several awards, including radio play of the month in 2007 and 2010 , the German Audio Book Prize in 2008 and the Authors' Prize in 2010 . Your production "Das Himbeerreich" was invited to the NRW-Theatertreffen in 2014. Sonnenbichler lives in Berlin.
