Markus Trabusch

Markus Trabusch (born 1962 in Trier ) is a German opera and theater director .

Life

After graduating from high school, Trabusch studied human medicine, general and comparative literature , history and German in Freiburg, Berlin and Munich (Magister Artium 1995).

This was followed by activities at the Schauspielhaus Zurich , the Freiburg Theater , the Münchner Kammerspiele , the Harbourfront Theater Toronto and the Stuttgart State Theater , in the music theater with Peter Mussbach at the Brussels Opera House La Monnaie / De Munt and the Frankfurt Opera .

This was followed by two years as a literary scholar at the University of Mainz . In 2000 he moved to the Mozarteum Salzburg , where he became a professor of acting and dramaturgy and head of acting and directing training.

From 2007 to 2014 he was acting director and deputy artistic director at Theater Augsburg . During an illness of the director Juliane Votteler , he represented her as director.

At the Augsburg Theater he staged Joseph Kesselring's arsenic and lace cap , Schiller's Maria Stuart , Paul Claudel's Das harte Brot , Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard , Bertolt Brecht's husband is a husband and Heinrich von Kleist's The Broken Jug . In 2011 he made his debut as an opera director with the production of Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata . In 2012 he staged the opening of brecht stage the two pieces in spitting distance of Taher Najib and Ulysses on the bottle raft of Gilad Evron , entitled Israel, mon amour , played in one evening. In 2013 Trabusch directs The Brandner Kaspar and Eternal Life and Shakespeare's Hamlet, Prince of Denmark .

In October 2014 he will direct at the Vorarlberger Landestheater in Bregenz .

Trabusch has been artistic director of the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg since the 2016/17 season .
