Anton Koelbl (actor)

Anton Koelbl (* 1957 in Eichstätt ) is a German actor .

Life

Anton Koelbl grew up in Eichstätt. After high school, civil service and basic studies in German and theater studies at the LMU Munich, he studied acting at the Hanover University of Music and Theater and, after graduating from 1985 to 1996, worked at the theaters in Braunschweig, Regensburg, Lucerne, Erlangen, Konstanz and Basel .

From 1996 to 2006 he was artistic director of integrative theater projects in Munich for and with people with psychological and social problems. With the bouffons of the Munich TheaterAtelier, he developed and staged works such as The Seeper after Jean Genet, frogs fall from the sky like rain strings after Anne Sexton and the invitation to the round table . He also worked with the director Alain Gsponer in the films X for U , Hinter dem Berg and Rose and with the director Juri Köster in the films Cubus and The Order .

From 2007 he was part of the ensemble of the Augsburg Theater and played a. a. in Waiting for Godot as "Tarragon", in Biedermann and the Arsonists as "Eisenring", in The Cherry Orchard as "Firs", in The Art of Comedy as "Oreste Campese" and in Orpheus in the Underworld as "Styx".

In 2011 he changed a. a. for the roles of "Philipp Klapproth" in Pension Schöller and "Tschebutykin" in Three Sisters at the Osnabrück Theater. In 2013 he returned to Augsburg and was there in Anne Lenk's Minna von Barnhelm and Kleiner Mann - what now? as “Just” or “Halibut”, in The Cold Heart as “Glasmännlein”, in Der Brandner Kaspar and the Eternal Life as “Portner”, in Philotas as “King Aridäus” and in Gust as “Gust” , where he and Tjark Bernau were also responsible for the production and set design. Work followed and a. with Bernadette Sonnenbichler as "Smee" in Peter Pan and with Christoph Mehler as "Puck" in A Midsummer Night's Dream .

With the start of the 2017/18 season, Anton Koelbl lives and works freelance in the countryside and in the city.
