Christian Brey

Christian Brey (* 1973 in Geldern am Niederrhein ) is a German director .

Life

From 1994 to 1998 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart . Has worked at the Württemberg State Theater since 1994 and was a permanent member of the ensemble there from 1997 to 2011. Christian Brey directed the works by and with Harald Schmidt “The Prince of Denmark” and “Elvis lives. And Schmidt can prove it. ”
In Stuttgart he staged a. a. "The Boss of the Whole" by Lars von Trier and "Volpone" by Soeren Voima with Harald Schmidt in the title role.
At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein he directed Franz Lehár's “The Merry Widow” together with Harald Schmidt .
In December 2010 his production of "Der nackte Wahnsinn" by Michael Frayn premiered in the Chemnitz Theater.
Since 2009 he has been part of Harald Schmidt's team in the late night show of the same name .

From April 2018 he will direct the Comedy in the Dark by Peter Shaffer at the Volkstheater (Vienna) .

Christian Brey also teaches in workshops, including a. at the Folkwang University of the Arts.
