Andy Kuntz

Andreas "Andy" Kuntz (born November 20, 1962 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German singer , musical performer and musical composer.

Life

Kuntz began his career as a musical performer in 1990. Numerous appearances and a. in Dortmund, Kaiserslautern, Munich, Saarbrücken, Trier and Wiesbaden followed.

He is also the singer of the band Vanden Plas . He is also active as a singer at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, where the musicals "Abydos" and "Ludus Danielis", written by him, were premiered. Günther Werno and Stephan Lill were responsible for the musical direction and implementation of the compositions; Intendant Johannes Reitmeier was also involved. “Abydos” uses elements of Egyptian mythology , “Ludus Danielis” is based on medieval adaptations of the biblical Belshazzar story. In 2008 the rock opera "Christ 0" (based on the novel " Der Graf von Monte Christo ") premiered at the Munich State Theater on Gärtnerplatz , in which Kuntz participated as a composer, librettist and singer. “Christ 0” premiered on January 24, 2010 in the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern.

Kuntz is a cousin of the former professional soccer player Stefan Kuntz .

The Chronicle of the Immortals

In 2011, Wolfgang Hohlbein commissioned the band Vanden Plas to put his novel cycle " The Chronicle of the Immortals " into a musical version. The rock opera entitled “The Chronicle of the Immortals - Blood Night” premiered on January 21, 2012 at the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern.
