Giulio Alvise Caselli (* 1979 in Ferrara ) is a German-Italian opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Giulio Alvise Caselli grew up as the son of an architect and a soprano in Ferrara. He has lived in Germany since he was 20 years old.

He first completed a degree in German and Linguistics at the University of Ferrara and the University of Regensburg .

He received his first singing lessons from his mother, Maria Gabriella Munari. He also studied at the Munich University of Music and Theater , where he received his opera diploma in 2005.

From 2006 to 2008 he was a permanent member of the Dortmund Theater . There he made his debut as Figaro in Rossini's The Barber of Seville under the direction of Arthur Fagen .

At the Linz State Theater he was engaged on several guest appearances.

From 2011 to 2017 the lyrical baritone was a member of the ensemble of the Augsburg Theater , where he made his debut as Conte d'Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro , the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni in 2012 , the male title role in Claude Debussy's opera Pelléas et Mélisande in 2014 and in 2016 interpreted by Hans Scholl in Udo Zimmermann's opera White Rose .

In February 2018 he performed Pasquale in Joseph Haydn's Orlando Paladino at the Hagen Theater . He is currently guesting in several productions at the Meiningen State Theater .

Caselli is a passionate barefooter. He is married and has one child.
