Manfred Weiß (director)

Manfred Weiß (* 1958 in Kassel ) is a German theater director , author , dramaturge and actor.

Life

After studying theater studies in Munich , he began working as an assistant director at the theaters in Essen, Freiburg and Mannheim, where he did his first directing work.

Weiß has been working as a freelance director for drama and music theater since 1992, in Dortmund, Esslingen, Braunschweig, Bielefeld, Biel / Solothurn, Augsburg , Schwäbisch Hall, Gelsenkirchen and Basel , among others . Permanent engagements followed at the Hanover Theater from 2004 to 2007 as a director and actor, at the Nationaltheater Mannheim from 1998 to 2001 as a dramaturge and director, at the State Opera Stuttgart from 2003 to 2006 as director and director of the Junge Oper and since 2010 at the Semperoper in Dresden as director and head of the young scene.
