The secret kingdom is a fairy tale opera in one act (two pictures) with text and music by Ernst Krenek , whose Op. 50. The opera forms a triptych together with Krenek's short operas The Dictator and Heavyweight or The Honor of the Nation . The three operas were premiered on May 6, 1928 in the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden as part of the Wiesbaden International May Festival.
