Presidential election in Kyrgyzstan 2000

The 2000 presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan took place on October 29, 2000.

They were held to elect the President of Kyrgyzstan . The previous incumbent , President Askar Akayev , was re-elected with over 70% of the vote, in an election which international observers described as unsuccessful from a democratic point of view because of the non-compliance with international standards.
