Bruno Kirby

Bruno Kirby (born April 28, 1949 in New York City , † August 14, 2006 in Los Angeles ; born Bruno Giovanni Quidaciolu, Jr. ) was an American actor .

biography

Bruno Kirby was born the son of actor Bruce Kirby .

He began his film career in 1971 in the drama The Young Graduates . In the following year he played a role in the pilot show of the series M * A * S * H and two years later he gained greater prominence in the role of the young Peter Clemenza in The Godfather - Part II and in 1978 as the main actor in the cult film Kurz before the holidays .

He celebrated his greatest successes in various comedies from the mid-1980s. He played in Tin Men and Good Morning, Vietnam . Both films were directed by Barry Levinson . It was followed by Harry and Sally , where he plays Harry's best friend, and City Slickers - the big city heroes , both at Billy Crystal's side .

Slowly the big roles stopped and the part of Nicky in the movie Donnie Brasco from 1997 was his last big film role. He stayed on television through various guest roles in television series. He starred in Frasier , Crazy About You and Homicide , where he also directed.

In 2004 he married actress Lynn Sellers .

Bruno Kirby died of leukemia on August 14, 2006 , having been recently diagnosed with the disease.
