Luis Contreras

Luis Roland Contreras (born September 18, 1950 in Kern County , CaliforniaJune 20, 2004 in Burbank , California) was an American actor .

Life

Contreras grew up as the son of actor Roberto Contreras and began his acting career in 1977 with his feature film debut in Steven Spielberg's science fiction film Close Encounters of the Third Kind , two years later he was in a small supporting role in Spielberg's comedy 1941 - Where Please Go To Hollywood to see. Much like his father, his Hispanic American was fixed on certain roles and frequently portrayed criminals, gang members and prison inmates. He has appeared in six films by Walter Hill , from Long Riders to Last Man Standing . He stood next to his father in front of the camera three times, in Fred Schepisi's Die Ballad vom Banditen Barbarossa , the action film Blue City produced by Walter Hill , as well as in Blood in, Blood out - Conspirators for life and death . Contreras has also appeared frequently as a guest star on various television series such as A Colt for All Occasions , Knight Rider , Simon & Simon and Airwolf .

Contreras died of complications from cancer at the age of 53 .
