Edmond Panariti (born June 1, 1960 in Tirana ) is an Albanian politician ( LSI ). Between 2013 and 2017 he was Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Management in the Rama I cabinet . In September 2017, Niko Peleshi ( PS ) took over the ministry.

Life

education

Edmond Panariti studied Veterinary Medicine at the Agricultural University of Tirana in 1984 . Between 1989 he did postgraduate studies at the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich . From 1995 to 2000, he received two Fulbright scholarships as a research fellow and lecturer at the University of Kentucky and the University of Mississippi . At the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover . he completed postgraduate studies from 1994 to 1998.

Political career

Edmond Panariti has been on the board of the Socialist Movement for Integration since the party was founded in 2004. In the local elections in 2011 he was elected as a member of the LSI to the City Council of Tirana and was Deputy Mayor of Tirana until 2012. Then he was brought into his government cabinet by then Prime Minister Sali Berisha ( PD ) and appointed Foreign Minister. When the Democrats broke the coalition with the LSI in April 2013, Panariti was replaced by Aldo Bumçi ( PD ).

After the parliamentary elections in Albania in 2013 , Edmond Panariti was appointed Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Management in his government cabinet in September 2013 by the new Prime Minister Edi Rama ( PS ) .

Private

Edmond Panariti is married to Narin Panariti. The couple have two sons, Klajd and Bjorn Panariti.

In addition to Albanian , he speaks fluent English , German , French and Italian .
