Berisha II cabinet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Albanian government in office from 2009 to 2013 is referred to as the Berisha II cabinet . When she was sworn in on September 17, 2009, she succeeded Berisha I's cabinet , which had been in office since 2005. With the swearing-in of the Rama I cabinet on September 15, 2013, the term of office of Berisha and his ministers formally ended.

The coalition between the Democratic Party (PD) , the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) , the Republican Party (PR) and the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PDIU) formed the government cabinet. The government has been repeatedly shaken by allegations of corruption. For example, Minister of Economic Affairs Dritan Prifti had to resign in September 2010 and Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta in January 2011 .

In April 2013, shortly before the end of the government, Sali Berisha replaced several LSI ministers with ministers from her own party, as the LSI was campaigning in a coalition with the socialists .
