Fatmir Mediu (born January 21, 1967 in Durrës ) is an Albanian politician of the Republican Party (PR), whose chairman he has been since 1997. In the Berisha II cabinet , he heads the Ministry of the Environment from 2009 to 2013.

Fatmir Mediu studied at the Geological Faculty of the University of Tirana and was chairman of the Republican Party in Qark Fier between 1991 and 1992 . In 1997 he was elected chairman of his party. Under the third government of Sali Berisha , he was 2005 Defense in September. However, he resigned from this post in March 2008 after an ammunition dump exploded in Gërdec and 26 people were killed. From the formation of the government in 2009, he was Minister of the Environment until 2013.
