Spiro Ksera

Spiro Ksera ( Greek Σπύρος Ξέρας Spyros Xeras ; born March 2, 1969 in Derviçan ) is an Albanian politician from the Greek minority . Under Prime Minister Sali Berisha , he was Albanian Minister of Labor and Communication and Equal Rights Officer in his second government from 2009 to 2013. Previously he was a member of the Greek party Association for Human Rights . He later became a member of the Democratic Party of Albania .

In 2016, Ksera was sentenced to 20 months in prison for allegedly embezzling US $ 285,000 intended for projects for the Roma minority . His lawyer appealed. It is not known whether the judgment became final.

Ksera studied mechanical engineering at the University of Tirana from 1985 to 1990. From 2005 to 2009 he was prefect of Gjirokastra Qark in southern Albania.
