Nasip Naço

Nasip Naço (born April 5, 1961 in Skrapar ) is an Albanian politician ( LSI ). From September 2013 to November 2015 he was Minister of Justice in the first government cabinet of Prime Minister Edi Rama ( PS ).

Life

Training and professional work

Nasip Naço studied law at the Law Faculty of the University of Tirana between 1988 and 1992 . He then worked as a regional public prosecutor for the Berat district until 1994, when he switched to the bar association in Berat and Tirana as an ordinary lawyer , where he worked until 1997. Before he was General Director of the Enforcement Service from 2002 to 2004, Naço worked in various positions in the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of the Interior.

Political career

In 2008 Naço was appointed LSI political secretary for Qark Berat . From 2009 to 2011 he was deputy president of Kuvendi i Shqipërisë . In 2011 he was brought into his cabinet by then Prime Minister Sali Berisha ( PD ) , where he was Minister for Economic Affairs, Trade and Energy for one year. From 2012 to 2013 he was again Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

After the Socialist Party of Albania had clearly won the 2013 parliamentary election against the Democratic Party of Albania , which had ruled since 2005 , a change of government became apparent. The LSI became the government's coalition partner again, as it had been with the Democrats since 2009. The new Prime Minister Edi Rama ( PS ) brought Nasip Naço into his cabinet and appointed him head of the Ministry of Justice in September 2013. In November 2015, he resigned from this post for unclear reasons. His successor was Ylli Manjani .

Private

Nasip Naço is married to Theodhora Naço. The couple have two children, Betina and Franko Naço.

In addition to Albanian , Naço speaks fluent English and Italian .
