Klajda Gjosha [ klajda ɟɔʃa ] (born July 28, 1983 in Tirana ) is an Albanian politician ( LSI ). Between 2013 and 2017 she was Minister for European Integration in the Rama I cabinet . That ministry no longer exists in the new government cabinet .

Life

Youth and education

At the age of 15, Klajda Gjosha emigrated with her family from Albania to the United Kingdom and had to drop out of the “ Ismail Qemali ” middle school in her hometown of Tirana after two grades .

In her new home, she first attended Strode College near Somerset in south-west England , which she successfully completed in 2002 with an advanced level. She then studied International Politics and Relations at the University of Reading and received her Bachelor's degree in 2005. The following year, she graduated from Reading with a Master's degree in European Studies.

After a subsequent internship in the administration of the German MEP Doris Pack in 2007, she returned to Albania for a while, where she worked for a month in Tirana for what was then the WAZ media group .

Political career

The full return to Albania came about after a meeting with Ilir Meta , the party leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) , in 2008. In 2009 the LSI entered into a government coalition with the Democratic Party (PD) (see Berisha II cabinet ) and Gjosha came to a state authority in Albania for the first time: between April 2010 and September 2011 she was director of the 13 employment offices in Tirana of the Ministry of Labor. Then she moved to the Bashkia (city administration) and was the capital's tourism director for a year.

Government offices

From 2012 to 2013, Klajda Gjosha was Deputy Minister for Labor, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities in the cabinet of then Prime Minister Sali Berisha ( PD ).

On July 31, 2013, it was announced that Klajda Gjosha would head the Ministry for European Integration in the future government cabinet of Prime Minister Edi Rama ( PS ). On September 15th the new government was sworn in.

Internal party functions

Klajda Gjosha became a member of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) in 2008 . Since August 18, 2012, she has been president of the party's women's forum, the movement of women for integration (Lëvizja e Gruas për Integrim) . At the same time, Gjosha became deputy party chairman of the LSI and a member of the party executive committee.

Family and private

Klajda Gjosha has been married to the economist Ardian Gjoni since August 31, 2013.

In addition to her native Albanian , she is also fluent in English . She also has a good knowledge of Italian and French .
