Milva Ekonomi (* 1962 in Tirana ) is an Albanian politician ( PS ). She was Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Enterprise from 2016 to 2017.

At the Agricultural University of Tirana , she completed a degree in statistics and economics, and at the University of Tirana she completed a master's degree in business administration .

From 1994 to 2005 Ekonomi was Director General of the Albanian Statistics Institute . In 2007 and 2008 she worked at the European Agency for Reconstruction as part of a project in Kosovo . She then worked for Sida at the Kosovo Statistics Agency until 2013 .

After his election victory , Prime Minister Edi Rama appointed Milva Ekonomi as deputy health minister in his cabinet in September 2013 . When she changed government in February 2016, she took over the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Enterprise from Arben Ahmetaj . In September 2017, the second cabinet of Edi Rama was sworn in, with Milva Ekonomi not being reinstated in the government.

Ekonomi has two daughters. In addition to Albanian, she also speaks English and Italian , and she also has knowledge of French .
