Istapp is a band of Swedish Melodic Black Metal , they describe their style as "True Blekingsk Black Metal". The band's name comes from Swedish and means "icicle".

history

The band was founded in 2000 and comes from Nattraby in Blekinge Province . The band was signed to Metal Blade Records in 2009 and released their first album Blekinge in June 2010 . Her second album Frostbiten was released in 2015 on Trollzorn Records . To date, two albums, three demos and one compilation have been recorded.

style

In their lyrics, the band often deals with topics related to winter ( e.g. Snö from the album Blekinge , in German "Schnee"; or Fimbulvinter from the album Frostbiten ), darkness or the absence of the sun and in particular absolute cold ( e.g. I väntan på den absoluta nollpunktan from the album Blekinge , in English “In expectation of absolute zero”; or Primum frigidum from the album Frostbiten ).
