Digital Domain is a US company that produces special effects for films , commercials and music videos . The company is based in Venice , California .

Digital Domain was founded in 1993 by Scott Ross, James Cameron and Stan Winston and supplied the special effects for films like Apollo 13 , True Lies , Interview with a Vampire and Color of Night . Digital domains effects for Cameron's film Titanic and David Fincher's The Strange Case of Benjamin Button each received the Oscar for best visual effects. In addition, Digital Domain produced commercials for Nike , Adidas and Toyota and music videos for the Rolling Stones , Nine Inch Nails and Linkin Park . Most of the special effects in Star Trek: Nemesis (2003), as well as some scenes in Transformers , were also produced by Digital Domain.

In 2002, Digital Domain founded a subsidiary that produced and sold Nuke , the award-winning special effects software .
