Peter Hewitt

Peter Hewitt ; and Pete Hewitt (* 1962 ) is an English screenwriter , producer and director . Peter Hewitt also worked under the pseudonym "Max Magenta".

Life

Hewitt graduated from the National Film School in the UK. His thesis, the 30-minute short film The Candy Show , won the British Academy Film Award , the British equivalent of the 1989 Oscar for best short film. He gained the attention of American film producers who transferred him to directing the comedy film Bill & Ted's crazy journey into the future ( Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey , 1991).

In 2004, Hewitt wrote the screenplay for Thunderbirds , a real-life adaptation of the English super marionation series Thunderbirds , which was filmed under the direction of Jonathan Frakes .

In 2006 he shot Zoom - Academy for Superheroes , in which Tim Allen and Spencer Breslin play among others . The film was panned by the critics and only shown briefly in Germany. Further film and television productions followed.

In addition to the big screen, Hewitt also worked on music videos and commercials.
