Gwyn - Princess of Thieves (original title: Princess of Thieves ), also sold under the title Robin Hood's Daughter , is an American-British television film with Keira Knightley in the lead role. It was produced by Granada Productions and shot in Romania .
action
Gwyn is the daughter of Robin Hood, who grows up without parents because Marian has died and Robin is on a crusade. She is friends with the nice but simple Froderick, who is in love with her. When Richard the Lionheart is dying, Robin Hood returns to England, but is captured by his enemies, the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John.
Now Gwyn tries to achieve Robin's goals. She takes care of finding and protecting the young legal heir to the throne, Prince Philip. The task is difficult as Philip travels under a false name. So they fight side by side several times and even when they gather together Robin Hood's people to free Gwyn's father, it happens without Gwyn Philips knowing real identity. The two fall in love.
His trusted companions can free Robin Hood with Gwyn and Philip and interrupt the coronation event that has now begun, which Prince John is to enthrone as king. At the coronation Philips carried out instead, Gwyn reveals to him that her future is not by his side, but in Sherwood Forest by her father's side.
criticism
The lexicon of international films judged the film to be "well-intentioned, but rather irrelevant family entertainment that wants to please everyone and only mixes up the stereotypes of the genre."
