John Leveque

John Leveque (born before 1972) is an American sound engineer who was nominated four times for an Oscar for best sound editing , making him the most frequent nominee in this category to date who has not received an Oscar. On the other hand, it won the British Academy Film Award (BAFTA Film Award) twice for best sound .

Life

Leveque began his career as a sound engineer in the Hollywood film industry in 1972 with the film Doomsday Voyage and has worked on the production of 75 films to date.

In 1993 he was nominated for the first time for an Oscar for best sound editing, with Bruce Stambler for Red Alert (1992). For Auf der Flucht (1993) he was nominated again for an Oscar in this category with Stambler in 1994 and won an Oscar in 1994 together with Stambler, Becky Sullivan , Scott D. Smith , Donald O. Mitchell , Michael Herbick and Frank A. Montaño for this film received the BAFTA Film Award for the best sound for the first time.

In 1995 and 1996 two further nominations followed together with Stambler for the Oscar for the best sound editing, on the one hand for Das Kartell (1994) and on the other hand for Batman Forever (1995). In 1998 he won his second BAFTA Film Award for Best Sound for LA Confidential (1997) together with Terry Rodman , Roland N. Thai , Kirk Francis , Andy Nelson and Anna Behlmer .

Last Leveque was twice for the Golden Reel Awards of Motion Picture Sound Editors nominated: first in 2000 for the satirical war movie Three Kings - It's good to be king (1999), the other for the television movie Freedom Song (2000).
