Scott D. Smith

Scott D. Smith (born March 26, 1953 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Smith began his career in 1975. In 1980 he worked on John Landis ' classic comedy The Blues Brothers . In the 1980s and 1990s he was involved in numerous action films, including Cusack - Der Schweigsame with Chuck Norris and Nico and Alert: Red with Steven Seagal . For the latter film, Smith was first nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Sound in 1993. The following year he received another Oscar nomination for On the Run . For this film he was awarded the BAFTA Film Awardawarded in the Best Sound category. Since the mid-2000s, Smith has been working increasingly for television and worked on the television series Prison Break , Shameless and Chicago PD , among others.For his participation in the television film Dollmaker - A Dream Come True with Jane Fonda in the lead role, he was also for a prime time in 1984 Emmy nominee.
