Russell Carpenter

Russell Paul Carpenter (born December 9, 1950 in Van Nuys , California ) is an American cameraman and photographer .

Filmmaking

Russell Carpenter started out as a cameraman on horror and science fiction films of the 1980s and 1990s, including Stuffed Animals Cemetery II and The Lawnmower Man . He became internationally known for his collaborations with James Cameron on True Lies and the disaster film Titanic , for which he won the Oscar for Best Camera .

Carpenter is married and has one child with his wife Patti.
