Life

In the early 1990s, the Iranian Hossein Amini went to Great Britain , where he was nominated for the BAFTA TV Award for his debut as a screenwriter for the television film The Dying of the Light , a drama about the English murdered missionary and aid worker Sean Devereux . With his two scripts for his first two films Hearts in Aufruhr and Wings of the Dove , he was each nominated for the Satellite Award and was also able to receive an Oscar nomination for the best adapted screenplay for the latter .

With the film The Two Faces of January , released in 2014, Amini directed his first feature film. He also wrote the script , based on the literary model of the same name by Patricia Highsmith .
