Mein Leben in Rosarot (Original title: Ma vie en rose ) is a fictional film from 1997 about the fate of the boy Ludovic, who would much rather be a girl. The director was Belgian Alain Berliner , who also wrote the script together with Chris Vander Stappen . The main role played Georges Du Fresne .
action
Seven year old Ludovic Fabre likes to play with dolls and wants to wear clothes. He dreams of a romantic wedding with his boyfriend and boyfriend Jérôme, but his surroundings in a Paris suburb are not very fond of the boy's behavior. His parents take him to a psychologist, but that doesn't bear much fruit either. His family is being cut more and more in the neighborhood. It comes to a scandal when Ludovic locks Snow White in the toilet during a performance by the school theater of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to replace her with Jérôme as prince during the kissing scene. The family fully felt the social exclusion in their surroundings, a petition from the other parents to the headmaster forced Ludovic to change schools. Ludovic's father loses his previously believed job, and one morning they discover smearings on the garage door directed against their son.
When Ludovic's father gets a new job in Clermont-Ferrand , his mother tries hard to prevent Ludovic from attracting attention again in the new environment. Ludovic is invited for the birthday of Christine, the daughter of the new neighbors. When Ludovic's mother sees him in a princess costume instead of his musketeer costume, she thinks the same cycle as before is set in motion. But when the deferral is made, it turns out that the exchange came from Christine and the other parents seem to be much more open-minded about it.
style
The childlike unreservedness, which finds expression in the bright candy colors of Ludovic's fantasy world, is countered by Berliner in color symbolism with a gray-tinged world of adults with their fixed role clichés, although he never uses a simple black and white scheme.
