Michael Seresin

Michael Stephen Seresin , ONZM (born July 17, 1942 in Wellington , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand cameraman and film director .

Life

Seresin made his comrade debut in The Ragman's Daughter in 1972 . A long collaboration connects him with director Alan Parker , for whom he has been behind the camera in nine films since Bugsy Malone (1976). For Parker's The Ashes of My Mother , he was nominated for the 2000 BAFTA Award in the Best Camera category, but failed to win. In the fantasy spectacle Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) he took over the camera for director Alfonso Cuarón .

In 1988 Seresin directed the film Homeboy , and in 2006 he made his acting debut as a custodian in the dance film Step Up .
