action

Street dancer Tyler Gage and his best friend Mac and his brother Skinny destroy a theater stage at the Maryland School of the Arts , and the three of them are caught. Tyler covers his friends and is the sole perpetrator. He is sentenced to 200 hours of community service that he has to do in the damaged school. There he meets the dancer Nora Clark, who is rehearsing for a major performance. When her dance partner Andrew suddenly fails and she cannot find a suitable replacement, Tyler offers himself as a temporary worker and convinces her with his talent. But both have personal problems. Nora's mother would rather see her daughter go to college, and Tyler almost loses his friendship with Mac when Mac finds out that the real reason Tyler doesn't have time for him is rehearsals for the performance with Nora. The two get closer while dancing, and when Nora breaks up with her boyfriend, nothing stands in the way of her feelings. After a party, Nora and Tyler have their first kiss.

When Andrew, Nora's recovered dance partner, returns, Tyler feels out of place and leaves both Nora and school. However, Andrew throws down again and Nora is again without a partner. When Skinny dies, Tyler realizes that life is about more than stealing cars. So he decides to finish what he started. He returns to school and fights so that Nora can dance the choreography she wants. After the performance, Nora is offered an offer to join a renowned dance group, and Tyler is accepted into the Maryland School of the Arts .

Reviews

“[The] directorial debut of the successful choreographer and less successful actress Anne Fletcher [...] comes across as a mix of Dirty Dancing and Save the Last Dance . No wonder, however, because Duane Adler, who is responsible here, also provided the script for the latter film. It's just something different whether Anne Flechter only stages a more or less successful choreography - such as in Jungfrau (40), male, seeks ... , game without rules , ... and then came Polly - or a full-length feature film. "

- Prisma online film database

"A teenage film that, due to the lack of originality in terms of form and content, can only score points with the physical charms of the two main actors."
