Rachel Griffiths
Rachel Anne Griffiths (born December 18, 1968 in Melbourne , Australia ) is an Australian actress .
family
Her mother was an art teacher, she herself acquired the teaching qualification at the former Victoria College, Rusden with a Bachelor in Drama and Dance. In December 2002 Rachel Griffiths married the artist Andrew Taylor . The two are parents of three children.
Career
Rachel Griffiths was best known as an actress in Australia due to the surprise success of Muriel's wedding , in which she played the main character's only true friend. Her first major US theatrical production was My Best Friend's Wedding , in which she played one of the bridesmaids. Her portrayal of Hilary du Pré in the film Hilary & Jackie , for which she received an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress, was highly praised .
She was a regular on the hit television series Six Feet Under , in which she played Brenda. For this she received the Golden Globe in 2002 . Griffith wrote the scripts and directed the Tulip and Roundabout productions .
From 2006 to 2011 she played the role of Sarah Walker Whedon in the series Brothers & Sisters . Since 2015 she has been active as a director in the series Nowhere Boys .
With Ride Like a Girl (2019) staged Griffith her first feature film.
