Aaron Zigman

Aaron Zigman (born January 6, 1963 in San Diego , California ) is an American film composer and music producer .

Life

Zigman was born the son of a pianist in San Diego. He studied at the University of California in Los Angeles , where he signed his first contract as a songwriter . He produced and wrote songs a. a. for Ray Charles , Sting , Phil Collins , Tina Turner , Seal , Huey Lewis , Natalie Cole and Christina Aguilera . He also works as a studio musician, e.g. B. on the 9th studio album Couldn't Have Said It Better by Meat Loaf . Since 2002 and the film John Q - Desperate Wage , he has worked as a composer for film music.

Awards

Zigman has won the BMI Film & TV Award four times : John Q - Desperate Anger (2002), Like a Single Day (2004), Madea Goes to Jail , Sex and the City - The Film (both 2009). He also received an Emmy for the song Sim Shalom from the film Crown Heights in 2005 together with Alex Brown .
